Have you ever wondered if your efforts have been wasted? You work long hours while others leave early or on time. You make sure all tasks are finished each day per the instructions of the boss. You are never thanked. In fact you feel taken for granted but you know that it’s what God would have you do. It’s this type of dedication that God honors because you do your work for Him. God notices and He will not forget.
You are the one in the school marching band who sits last chair. Person after person joins the band only to be placed ahead of you. Your playing ability is equal to other band members yet your rank never moves up. You watch while others compete for a higher seat number striving for number one. You do your best spending time after school working on your music. The director doesn’t seem to notice. God notices your effort and dedication to be the best He made you to be and He will not forget.
While the people in charge may take you for granted God has stored up a treasure for you in heaven. You are the one who could very well be entertaining angles without realizing it. God notices the number two person or the last chair. There would be no number ones without you. Behind the scenes you have been an important person in another’s success. It’s not everybody who can take the tasks in life that get little to no recognition. These are the tasks God turns into the greatest blessings.
While it’s nice to get some blessings on this side of life, it’s even nicer to enjoy blessings for an eternity. You might be number two but God sees you as His masterpiece. He sees you as a person who is humble, one He can use in ways that matter the most.
Matthew 6:19-20 Living Bible
Don’t store up treasures here on earth where they can erode away or may be stolen. Store them in heaven where they will never lose their value and are safe from thieves.
