The world is slowly passing away.  People are not getting along.  Nations are against other nations.  Everyone is out for themselves and the political realm is taking away all our freedoms.  Many people have no clue why things are the way they are. These things should be no surprise because the Bible tells about these times.  As we continue to draw closer to God, He will make sure our day to day walk is safe.  He will see to it our prayers are answered and our needs are met.  His Word in our hearts is the best companion we could ever know.

Proverbs 4:19-21

But the way of the wicked is like total darkness.

They have no idea what they are stumbling over.

My child, pay attention to what I say.

    Listen carefully to my words.

Don’t lose sight of them.

Let them penetrate deep into your heart

Peaks And Valleys

Peaks And Valleys

During Jesus’ time with us on earth, He shared many miracles and displayed much glory.  He also demonstrated a perfect attitude toward persecutions and trials.  As we walk with Him, there will be mountain top experiences and other times valleys in life.  He is the bright and morning star and He is the lily of the valley.  At all times He is present.  He considers us worthy and prepared to walk with Him through certain trials or He would not have allowed them.  These are opportunities to put full trust in Him.  The rewards that follow will always outweigh the trials themselves.

Romans 8:16-18

For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children. And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering.  Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later.

Complex prayer requests are handled with great care.  We watch as things slowly progress then suddenly there is no more evidence that we can see.  Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things unseen.  God uses all prayer requests to develop faith and endurance.  As we continue to look for the slightest sign that things are working out, God is working behind the scenes.  When we can no longer see progress, it’s comforting to know that our request is tucked safely in God’s arms.  Heavenly answers are now being created that are too great to see with human understanding.  When He has everything ready, He will present it in a glorious way.

Hebrews 10:23

Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.

This week a man turned down a possible job because he was asked to remove all references to God from his employment history.  This same man has been unemployed for quite some time.  He chose God over a job.  Twenty years ago a lady chose to walk off the job when asked to vacuum around her work station.  All employees were expected to vacuum.  This same lady was one who offered kind and comforting words to others.  She chose pride over her witness.

The words, (well done, my faithful servant,) spoken to us by Jesus Christ at the end of our lives is worth any task here on earth.  It doesn’t matter how other people view us.  The only thing that matters is how obedient we are to God.

Galatians 6:3-5

If you think you are too important to help someone, you are only fooling yourself. You are not that important.  Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else.  For we are each responsible for our own conduct.

A Listening Ear

A Listening Ear

HPIM2043

There is a sense of frustration when we just want to be heard and no one will listen.  At times we will try to make our voice heard only to keep being stopped by the listener to make his/her point.  Then the conversation is quickly taken over by that person.  Once again we become the listener while yet another person unloads.  Other times we get to speak and the listener is behind a newspaper or on the computer and we receive a quick yes or I see when we know they haven’t heard anything we said.  Other people will take what you say seriously then later we learn our conversations have been circulated through the gossip mill.

God is always interested in chatting with us.  His door is always open night or day and at all locations.  He never gossips about us, interrupts us or makes us feel embarrassed.  We can talk about anything and He understands.  When we share our broken hearts, anger or frustrations He understands.  Once we are honest with God, He can work things out.  The more we share with God the more He has to work with.

Psalm 66:19

But God did listen! He paid attention to my prayer.
