It’s easy to trust during good times. Things work out. There is confidence in a good job, relationships and material things. But what are we really rejoicing over during these times? All these things are temporary while here on earth. It’s during the trials and uncertainties that we draw from our Lord’s strength. The peace that passes all understanding and the closeness to God during these times are when we really fellowship with God and grow into His likeness. These times of trust, closeness and fellowship are the things we store up in heaven. All else passes away.
Romans 8:35,37
Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.

Many times His voice goes unnoticed because His tugging at our hearts is very kind and gentle. The world’s way of doing things is very luring and popular. The world offers fast and exciting ways to enjoy life for today but it comes with a price. It causes many to live a lifestyle of jumping from consequence to another. The still instructions God places in our hearts are usually opposite from the human way of responding. However obedience to that still gentle voice offers God’s protection. He has parted seas, provided streams in the desert, prevented harm in a blazing furnace and most important conquered death through His Son, Jesus Christ.

He has the whole world in His hand. He created heaven and earth. All answers are in His hand. It’s a comforting thought to know that no matter how complex things get, He will open His mighty hand to us that holds the answer.
Psalm 95:4-5
He holds in his hands the depths of the earth and the mightiest mountains. The sea belongs to Him, for He made it. His hands formed the dry land, too.

The standard rule of love is represented by the word “JOY.” It means to always put Jesus first, the needs of others second and yourself last.
There are times when sleep is put aside in order to pray for friend headed down a wrong path. The opportunity for a good paying job is postponed because another person needs their hand held in a time of their need. A kind caregiver is willing to work extra hours to bring peace to a hurting family. Soldiers put themselves in harms way to defend their country. These are just a few of many examples of ways people show their love. Jesus loves us first and He forgives all our sins. That is reason to rejoice.
