Nothing Compares To Our Lord’s Presence

If it is better to spend just one day in our Lord’s presence than a thousand years here, just imagine an eternity of peace.  As we watch while the world is shattered to pieces and many want power, there is comfort knowing that eternity with our Lord will not consist of any of this chaos.  There are a lot of people who are angry and confused and will seek answers everywhere except the Bible.  They try to fill a Christ shaped void in their lives with earthly things.  They resort to really desperate things with absolutely no remorse and still find no peace.  Life without Christ is a very empty feeling for these people.  No amount of power or control will ever measure up to the peace that can be found through Jesus Christ.

As for the people who are victims, not only of public cruelty but those in the privacy of their own homes, there is a God who loves.  We may not see it because heavenly answers many times are too big for the human eye.  Love knows no barriers.  As we are drawn to one another in love through adversity, God will demonstrate His awesome peace.  Prayer is the most beautiful thing one person can do for another.  Prayer opens the floodgates of heaven to be poured on the object of prayer.  Prayers are free.  Prayers are felt.  There are many who would appreciate a prayer today.

Psalm 84:10-11

A single day in your courts
is better than a thousand anywhere else!
I would rather be a gatekeeper in the house of my God
than live the good life in the homes of the wicked.
For the Lord God is our sun and our shield.
He gives us grace and glory.
The Lord will withhold no good thing
from those who do what is right.

His Love Reaching

It is comforting to know that God sees all things.  He inhabits our praises with a smile.  He sees our efforts of obedience and is pleased.  There are times when people will wrong us in horrible ways.  We wonder sometimes if the tears will every dry up.  God holds us so tightly in His arms we can no longer see Him because we are completely surrounded by His love and compassion.  He gently helps us to our feet and walks with us never walking away.  He sees all things.  He knows all emotions.  He is Lord in all situations.  Wait.  He will show us the end result.

Isaiah 40:11

He will feed His flock like a shepherd. He will carry the lambs in His arms, holding them close to His heart. He will gently lead the mother sheep with their young.

There is assurance that God’s promises will always come true.  Time may pass or circumstances may get our focus off the promise but it will happen.  Blessed assurance is very comforting in today’s world.

Psalm 146:6

He made heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them. He keeps every promise forever.

Enjoy Your Day

Enjoy Your Day

HPIM2101

A new day, new beginnings and new adventures have been granted to us.  God has everything in His hands.  The hurts, differences and anger from yesterday are in God’s throne room being worked out.  His heavenly solutions are things we cannot even imagine.  Rejoice in the Lord because our concerns are His priorities.  We are free to be joyful.

Psalm 118:24

This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

Love is when a little league baseball team purposely misses the ball in order to allow a child with disabilities to score a run.  A few moments of recognition for winning a game is traded for a smile on a child’s face that will last him a lifetime.

Love is when the church soloist who sings every week and sometimes twice will give up a solo to allow a group of musicians to present their talent.  The one presentation becomes a reward to that group they will always remember.

Love is when the boss has to choose between two people to let go.  The more experienced person will volunteer to leave.  The person who stays on the job is the lady who is caring for seriously ill family members and couldn’t get by otherwise.

This is the type of love that brings recognition to God.  This is the type of love God can multiply and send back to us.

Luke 6:38

Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
