Each day is a learning experience, especially for those who want to grow into the likeness of Jesus Christ. From the beginning of time He gave perfect instructions that result in peace and contentment here on earth. To walk in His footsteps and learn to trust Him in all things leads to safety.
People refer to the old school many times to explain simpler ways of doing things that always worked. There are things like simple arithmetic that have always worked. Over the years people have come up with new math that will take up a whole chalkboard of figures to come to the same conclusion as the old simple arithmetic.
There is no older school than the simple instructions from God, Who has always existed. Those instructions still work today. His words remain forever.
2 Timothy 3:14-15
But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.

We can call on God at all times and He hears and answers us. He is the Lion of Judah with great strength. He can win great battles that amaze human understanding. He is the Slain Lamb of God Who still stands. He gently understands even the most complex situations. There is no problem too big for God to conquer. There is no problem too small to be overlooked.
The love of Jesus Christ is in all things and His name will be glorified with the outcomes. Just call His name and He is there. His name is Jesus.
Job 5:9-11
He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed, miracles that cannot be counted.
He provides rain for the earth; He sends water on the countryside.
The lowly He sets on high, and those who mourn are lifted to safety.

There are many people that others are drawn to. Some have a way of making others laugh while some are physically attractive. There are people who know how to make great speeches and others can charm people with words. If these people care only about their own gain and what they can receive from others, it is a disappointment after taking the time to know them.
To the ones who spent many hours getting to know these attractive people and giving their heart, it is a very empty feeling. These hours could have been spent with ones who would have been a much better steward of the attention given to them. For the ones who present themselves as something greater than they are, there is an emptiness within them that can never be satisfied by any human. To a person who entertains narcissism, it is a never ending void that continues to suck others dry of their love while offering nothing but an illusion. These people are the loneliest of them all.
Only Jesus can fulfill a person totally. No amount of beauty, talent, skill, craftsmanship or abilities can substitute for the love of Christ within. If there is no love in the heart all of this will fade away.
The love of Jesus Christ is the answer to all things and fills all voids. To genuinely care for someone else and their feelings and taking the time to understand will make love grow. Jesus loved us first. The love of Jesus is perfect. As we pass along love it fills all voids because Jesus is love.
1 Corinthians 13:1-3
If I speak in the tongue of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

There are so many things to be thankful for. Even while waiting on answered prayer there are glimpses of heaven all around. Only God can make a white puffy cloud of beauty to shield the hot sunshine from us or water our crops. Only God can see to it the dawn and dusk come on time each day. Only God can hold our most beloved ancestors in His arms for safekeeping until He joins us to Himself and them once again.
While so many are thankful for the time spent with family, others can be thankful for what is to come. There may be an empty space at our table but there is comfort and beauty knowing heaven’s table has an empty space for us to join the celebration there.
A Thanksgiving hug to all of you whether it is one of celebration or one of hope, it is sent in love. Blessings to you all.
Colossians 3:1-4
Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, Who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.

There are times when people are asked how they are doing and the response is fine. We can only assume things are going well for them and their needs are being met. A parent can ask how were things in school and a child will say things are good. It can only be trusted that things are working out for good grades and nice friends.
What about the many people who tell us things are fine when really they are not. A person with loving discernment can tell by the body language and the expressions on people’s faces that there are circumstances between the words. A mother or father will usually know what the situations are that are between the words. Our loving Father in heaven knows everything about us. When we pray and purposely omit certain things hoping God will not notice, He has already noticed. His love is waiting for us to acknowledge we have hidden nothing from Him. God will never embarrass us or put our name out for our friends to laugh at. He is waiting to share it with us and show us a better way.
Like the loving parent or friends, God is waiting to help, not punish. Hiding things only adds a feeling of guilt on top of all else because we have hidden it from no one. If there is a need to run, it’s better to run toward the loving arms of God than to run away from something that remains with us the whole time. God can fix all things. This includes mistakes, broken hearts, damaged emotions, lost relationships and even grief. Jesus has overcome it all. He understands.
Psalm 139:3-4
You discern my going out and my lying down; You are familiar with all my ways.
Before a word is on my tongue You, Lord, know it completely.
