Celebrities get a lot of praise and recognition. There are cameras all around and huge audiences are everywhere they go. While the celebrity is on stage the cheers and claps are deafening. The crowd is so tightly packed it’s impossible for them to move around. At the end of the show celebrities take their bows and curtain calls as they receive more applause. Then it’s on to the next show for even more.
Behind the curtain there are numerous people who spent long hours preparing the stage, the audio, the cameras and stage directions. Security and police are outside risking their lives to ensure the safety of the crowds. These are the people who get no recognition, praise or even a thank you. Without these people the celebrity’s performance would be unsuccessful.
For those who are equally talented it’s difficult at best to not be jealous. Galatians 6:4 advises: Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else.
The audience of One far outweighs the attention of the greatest multitudes.
Matthew 25:23
The master said, ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!’
