There are people who can speak beautiful reassuring lies. While we listen we want to hear more. These people know exactly how to say the right thing to hook us.
There are sales techniques that work that way. There are ads for movies that make numerous people flock to see it. The absolute worst is a person who leads us to think we cannot live without them. They deceive us into thinking we are loved. Later we learn it was only a plot to get our savings or to get added to a string of lovers.
It’s sad when the longing is still there to hear those same deceitful people speak more empty words. Empty words from lying people create a vacuum that drains all emotions where neither person gets enough. When there is no sincerity there is a void created where our hearts long for the truth from that person. How horrible it is to be addicted to such emptiness. Getting free of such bondage can be difficult because the empty words are so beautiful.
Jesus sets the captives free. When we call upon our Lord He hears us, comforts us and provides the way of escape. God’s words are genuine and He needs to speak just once and the assurance is there forever. With God there is such comfort that we can live a peaceful life based on His words which are true. He provides honest friends along the way to walk with us. He leads us into peaceful times alone to experience His divine calmness. He comforts us in our hearts as we enter into His truth from the bondage of the addiction to empty lies. The loving words of Jesus are like an open grassy field where we are free to enjoy and trust His genuine love, free of the bondage of emptiness. He provides an escape and walks with us from bondage to freedom.
Psalm 12:3-6
But the Lord will not deal gently with people who act like that; He will destroy those proud liars who say, “We will lie to our heart’s content. Our lips are our own; who can stop us?”
The Lord replies, “I will arise and defend the oppressed, the poor, the needy. I will rescue them as they have longed for me to do.” The Lord’s promise is sure. He speaks no careless word; all He says is purest truth, like silver seven times refined.
