All That Glitters Is Not Gold

The devil is famous for deception.  He can make even the worst situations seem like the right thing to do.  He knows how to make things radiate beauty in a splendid way.  The human eye and emotions automatically gravitate toward these deceptions because they have been made to be irresistible.

However following these deceptions come with a price.  They do not fulfill even a little bit.  Sure, there is prestige and glamor during the first few indulgences but then it leaves a void making a craving for more and more.  That craving is never satisfied.

Seashores are beautiful but nobody drinks the water.  Salt just makes one more thirsty.  The beauty of an ocean does not compare with an ordinary glass of water but the glass of water certainly fulfills.

In order to avoid getting involved into temptation, resist it.  Walk away or run the other way if necessary.  The deception of the devil comes with a price.

James 4:7

So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
