The Bible Speaks Directly To You

The Word of God is speaking to you.  Yes, you.  Your Bible is open and you come across a passage that makes you leap for joy.  It’s like God is telling you He sees what your neighbor or friend is doing to you and He will go get them.  You are quick to burst forth in prayer letting God know all the this and thats your friend has done to you.

Before you get all happy just remember that’s not the case at all.  God does not gossip to you about another person and He doesn’t gossip back to them about you.  God is speaking to you and you only.  While you have your mind set on God punishing another person, God is trying to get your heart’s attention.  He loves you and he wants to point some things out to you that need to be changed, enhanced or eliminated from your life in order to prevent future misunderstandings with certain people.

The next time you are sitting in church and you somehow want your friend or neighbor to hear that particular sermon, God is speaking to you.  While your mind is going in a million directions trying to figure out how this other person can hear the sermon, God is working on you so you will notice Him.  Until you open your heart and close your mind’s desires toward another person you will only stay where you are.

Will God deal with others?  Yes.  However He is dealing with you first.

Matthew 7:3-4  New Living Translation

“And why worry about a speck in your friend’s eye when you have a log in your own?   How can you think of saying to your friend, ‘Let me help you get rid of that speck in your eye,’ when you can’t see past the log in your own eye?
