Dead In The Water

It is amazing how God can use examples of nature to demonstrate what He says in the Bible.  There is abundant water all around.  There is enough sunshine and rain to keep water flowing day after day.  Yet with all that He provides there are trees that do not take in the water that is provided.  Sure, they stand tall.  They make a statement.  They create obstacles and they get attention.  However they do not have life.  There is no greenery or fruit.  They are dead trees standing tall in the midst of every opportunity to soak up life.

It is the same way with people.  God gives opportunity after opportunity to trust Him and accept Him.  He is the life giver.  He is available at all times.  Yet there are people who stand in His presence day after day.  They are wrapped up in fame, fortune and other pleasures of the world.  They are big shots yet if they are asked for a prayer or anything that would benefit another person they offer nothing.  There is no fruit of the spirit.  Lots of great words are offered drawing much attention but they never deliver.  They have never grafted to the life giving vine.

When we accept the love of Jesus Christ, He grafts us to his everlasting vine of life.  No matter who we are, our past or status He is available.  God’s arm is never too short to reach us.  His eyes are never blind to our troubles.  His ears are never deaf to our cries.

Even when we do not know exactly how to pray or what to ask for, Jesus intercedes for us and turns our words into a pleasant aroma to God.

The love of Jesus Christ is a refreshing oasis in a dry desert of circumstances and obstacles in life.  No matter how dry life gets, when we remain in the loving arms of Jesus He will keep us safe.

John 15:4-5

Remain in Me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in Me. I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in Me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.
