We live in a time when lots of people have turned their backs on God. Many say they don’t want anything to do with Him so He politely steps back. When God steps back He takes His wisdom and knowledge with Him leaving people in mass confusion.
What begins to happen is people revolt over nothing at all because they are empty inside. They turn over cars, riot in the streets and burn things for lack of better things to do. They are angry and even if they got everything they wanted they would still be angry because the problem is within. People try to witness to them for Christ and they turn on the people bringing good news like a pack of wolves. When God steps back the devil takes over and the devil is mad all the time.
What are we, as God’s people, supposed to do? How do we survive when destruction is all around us? When we cast our ballots for the ones God instructs us to and they either don’t win or turn sour with the corruption, how do we respond? What do we do when a candidate gets into office who represents God and he/she gets stifled and laughed at by other corruption? While it’s true that the devil takes over when God turns His back, He still shows His favor to those who continue to seek His face.
God is still our fist in the wind. He is still our anchor in rough waters. He is still our hiding place during turmoil.
God never changes and we will always have certainty of His love. If we continue to draw close to Him, He will draw close to us. It doesn’t matter how many come against us or turn their backs on Him, His promise to us remains forever. Even if only one person draws close to Him, He still draws close to him or her.
2 Samuel 22:3-4 Living Bible (TLB)
I will hide in God, Who is my rock and my refuge. He is my shield And my salvation, My refuge and high tower. Thank you, O my Savior, for saving me from all my enemies. I will call upon the Lord, Who is worthy to be praised; He will save me from all my enemies.
