We often wonder why such a dishonest one goes unnoticed when it comes to punishment. We watch while this one cheats on his/her spouse or lies to a boss yet they have a following of people who praise the ground they walk on. A day comes when such a person passes away and the pomp and expense of a glorious funeral continues for days. At the same time the ones hurt by this same person wonder why such praise when the damage done to these people is beyond emotional repair.
It’s the same thing with kindness of people. One person can do a deed that gets national recognition while another has a lifestyle of kindness and gets no notice at all. This seems so unfair, especially when we are the ones getting overlooked or secretly abused.
One thing to consider is that life on earth is short and the praise or mistreatments of others is temporary. Being overlooked or praised as we know it will be completely different once we enter eternity. A day will come when all things will be exposed for the good or bad done while we are here.
It’s important that we take a serious look at our own motives for our own plans. Is it our intention to get ahead in life without considering our actions may hold another person back? Do we intend to expose another person’s dishonesty only to see that person in trouble or do we approach that person privately giving them an opportunity to change? All of this will be exposed when we enter heaven and it will be God Himself who does the exposing.
While things may be unfair here, all things in eternity will be totally fair. As we trust God in prayer with these situations that hinder us or limit our recognition, He will see to it we live peacefully in our circumstances. At the right timing of God’s choosing all things will be made fair.
1 Timothy 5:24-25 New Living Translation (NLT)
Remember, the sins of some people are obvious, leading them to certain judgment. But there are others whose sins will not be revealed until later. In the same way, the good deeds of some people are obvious. And the good deeds done in secret will someday come to light.
