God Sees Unfairness On The Job

All companies have employees who try hard and others who goof off.  The larger the company the larger the variety of personalities and habits.  While some companies are fair in their hiring and promoting practices other larger corporations leave too much room for unfairness.  How should we as God’s children treat an employer regardless of how they treat us?

At all times we should present our best efforts as though we are already in heaven doing that particular job for Christ Himself.  Know that God sees all things that happen since He is our heavenly father.

God sees the employee who is prompt coming to work and presents his best all day.  He sees that employee stay late or help others.  He sees when employers take advantage or promote their friends instead of him.  He sees when employers give raises to their friends overlooking that employee.  God even sees when a faithful employee gets a cut in salary or is fired in order to favor a friend.  God sees it all and knows every heart involved.  However in due time God will create a reward in ways we never think possible.

Sometimes such unfairness at a company will cause bankruptcy forcing a takeover by a company that is more fair.  Situations can come up where bosses are rotated or favored employees move to different areas.  Good employees will sometimes be noticed by a promoting manager from a totally different company or department.  These are examples of things we can see and understand as humans.  However God is limitless.

God, Who knows each heart involved, will tailor make solutions that will bring glory to His name.  When we pray about these situations that are so unfair it’s best to bring our petition to God and leave the outcome to Him.  He will give us the grace we need each moment of every day to face the challenges on the job.  As we remain focused on Him and not the unfairness around He will uphold us with His righteous right hand.  There is assurance in the word “all” when God speaks of us having many afflictions yet He delivers us from all of them.

Colossians 3:23-24  New Living Translation

Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.  Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ.

A test is coming tomorrow.  We study and know all the answers but in our minds are the fears of many things.  What if the chapters we study are not the ones on the test.  What if we draw a blank.  What if our pencil point breaks.  What if, what if, what if the...
