Chapel Stained Glass Jesus

There are many examples in the Bible that refer to Christ as our solid rock.  On this earth there are rocks all around and they are not easily destroyed.

In the United States there is an entire mountain made of stone.  It has been there for hundreds of years and no damage is ever done.  It withstands harsh winters with snow and sleet and hot summers with heat.  People visit that mountain every day and walk to the top.  People stomp with their feet, cast small stones, kick, climb, run and even sit and it does no damage.  The winds are strong at all times making it difficult to spend very long there yet the winds do not even phase the mountain that is all stone.

This is an earthly example of the strength of rock.  Jesus Christ, our Rock of Salvation, cannot be moved.  He stands true to His word.  To have Jesus as our divine protector is to have all we need in all things.

2 Samuel 22:31-33

God’s way is perfect. All the Lord’s promises prove true.

He is a shield for all who look to Him for protection.

For who is God except the Lord?  Who but our God is a solid rock?

God is my strong fortress and He makes my way perfect.
