Heavenly Sonshine

We grieve when we look around us and many of our loved ones have already been received into heaven.  Their absence can be compared to us missing a part of our life.  It’s a normal healing process to grieve and to remember the times we shared together.  We think about the good old days but quickly remember that the good old days lie ahead.

Jesus assures us that heaven is a real place and He has gone to prepare a place for us.  When everything is ready He will come for us.  The place for our loved one was completed so He came for them just like He will come for us when our place is completed.

The beauty of heaven cannot be described in human words but John made some comparisons when he wrote Revelations.  Millions upon millions of angels are praising God.  One pastor made a statement that to hear that many angels at once is greater than the sound of a waterfall when we stand behind one.  The roar of the water and the force when it gushes to the bottom is so mighty we have to scream at each other to be heard.

The precious stones are so brilliant that they dazzle with a white reflection.  There is a tree that produces a new fruit each month and there is no sickness.  Imagine what heaven will be like the first glimpse we get.  Imagine how much more breath taking it will be for a blind person to see heaven as their very first experience of having sight.

These are a few physical aspects of heaven but more important is the spiritual experience of seeing Jesus face to face.  His glory is so magnificent that our first expression of gratitude is on our knees.  Our loved ones are all healed and there is a smile on every face.  The reunion far exceeds any reunion we have here on earth.  People who never got along will no longer have the obstacles that made them at odds here.  There is a special place of service for each of us without anyone competing for any seat or position.  Heaven is perfect because God is love.

Philippians 3:20-21  New Living Translation

But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives.  And we are eagerly waiting for Him to return as our Savior.  He will take our weak mortal bodies and change them into glorious bodies like His own, using the same power with which He will bring everything under His control.
