We look around us and scratch our heads at the way some people act. Unfortunately some of these people are in charge of things. Some are elected officials. Some are teachers. Some are pastors. Their ideas sound ok but when we take a serious look at what some promote we see the faults. There are people who can make a lie sound like something we cannot live without. As we entertain the thoughts of such people we quickly start to see their way of thinking. It’s not long before we become blinded by these lies.
The Bible is very specific about people who want no part of God. God will remove His presence from these people and along with His presence, His wisdom. The devil is allowed to go on a rampage in the minds of ones who want no part of God and they truly believe a lie. Once a person is deceived no amount of truth will change their minds. In fact they will revolt if any small amount of truth challenges their beliefs. This is the society we live in today.
Many are confused and believe beyond a shadow of doubt they are right and the truth is false. We live in a day where the truth is rejected because so many have rejected God. Anyone trying to argue with deceived people fight a losing battle. They will argue down the truth to the point where a truthful person starts to become deceived. How do we win with these people and how do we live in a world where the truth is shunned?
The way we live our lives is the best example to give. They watch while we leave each week to go to a worship service. They see things work out supernaturally. They see our pleasant attitudes even through adversity or sickness. God takes care of us and upholds us with His righteous right hand. We have peace knowing that we have eternal life through Jesus Christ and this peace of mind shows on our faces. The way we live our lives is a seed planted in the hearts of those living a lie.
The proper prayer to say for deceived people is that God open their hearts to the truth. God will give them a hunger for more and they will search for Him. Any who seek God will find Him. While the devil is the author of confusion, God is the promoter of truth and the truth sets us free.
2 Corinthians 4:3-4 Living Bible (TLB)
If the Good News we preach is hidden to anyone, it is hidden from the one who is on the road to eternal death. Satan, who is the god of this evil world, has made him blind, unable to see the glorious light of the Gospel that is shining upon him or to understand the amazing message we preach about the glory of Christ, who is God.
