The world is full of people who are about themselves. They want the biggest and best of everything. When they get it, they make life difficult for others who do not have as much.
The more these people get the more they want. Even if they gain the whole world it would not be enough because nothing fills the Christ shaped void in life except Christ Himself.
God’s way is to love. An attitude of giving instead of getting fulfills more than anything imagined. To get, many times means to compete, hurt people, cheat, ignore those who need them the most in order to achieve. To give means to pray, put the needs of others first, listen, understand and love. Giving love is free and the void that is filled takes away the need to get more and more. There will be peace and contentment with things just as they are.
So Jesus called them to Him and said, “As you know, the kings and great men of the earth lord it over the people; but among you it is different. Whoever wants to be great among you must be your servant. And whoever wants to be greatest of all must be the slave of all. For even I, the Messiah, am not here to be served, but to help others, and to give My life as a ransom for many.”
